Fat Pad Restoration As A Conservative Treatment For Foot Pain Using Regenerative Medical Therapy
Many patients have pain at the ball of the feet. They also have pain at the heel. And they also have pain at the toes. All of these could be due to loss of fat pad. Fat is extremely important to cushion the area so there is less pain while we ambulate. As you grow older the fat below certain areas in the feet decrease. This results in pain in certain areas of the foot. This can be at the heel underneath the fifth metatarsal underneath the ball of the foot and the toes as well.
Many women like to wear stiletto’s. These stiletto’s can cause a lot of discomfort at the balls of the feet. Also a lot of fashionable women like to wear narrow shoes. These can cause compression on the little toe as well as at the big toe. This can also result in pressure-point and severe pain in these particular areas.
At the comprehensive foot and ankle Institute we helped restore the fat pad. We use regenerative medical therapy and use Liposana, red light therapy, as well as class IV laser therapy to help restore and rejuvenate the fat pad under the area of most discomfort. Our patients are able to ambulate immediately. And within several weeks most of their pain has subsided and this is being done without any surgery.
