Minimal incision surgery done with hideous screws. Why would you let this happen to you? Stay away from them

March 31, 2026

Some surgeons now want to do minimal incision bunion surgery with hideous screws. They want to TRY and do minimal incision surgery. So they use these large screws to shift the bone all the way to correct the bunion. This will result in a blown out metatarsal with severe complications. Why would you want to have this done to you?  This can also result in pseudo bunions.

The pseudo bunion that results is at the yellow arrow above. These type of screws can cause a blowout metatarsal.

Stay away from surgeons that profess to do minimal incision surgery using these types of screws. They can be extremely detrimental to you.

At the Comprehensive Foot and Ankle Surgery we specialize in true minimal incision surgery for bunions and other foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Sutpal Singh does not use internal hardware and corrects the deformity in the office under local anesthesia. We do this with our specialized technique, and specialized surgical instruments.
