Treatment for painful ingrown toenails

Many patients have painful ingrown toenails, so request an appointment for ingrown toenail treatment if the area is swollen, tender, or repeatedly infected. They have tried removal of these nails but it comes back. They have gone to other physicians and had their nails removed but they invariably come back. These are quite painful. At our Institute we use Class IV Laser Therapy to help prevent the nail from coming back and to allow for good wound care. Laser therapy allows for decrease in infection and increase in wound healing through the concept of photo-bio-modulation. This is a concept in which photon from the laser penetration into the wound obliterates any bacterial infection and allows the wound to heal in a proper manner. This will help to decrease the possibility of the nail from coming back and thereby decreasing the chance of recurrence of an ingrown toenail.
