At the comprehensive foot and ankle Institute we specialize in fracture healing. Fractures can occur through sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents and falls. These are nonintentional fractures. Intentional fractures are those in which we perform osteotomies to correct the structural deformity of the foot and ankle. Osteotomies is a way of breaking the bone and resetting it into a correct anatomical location. These are done for bunions, hammertoes, midfoot surgery, rear foot surgery as well as ankle surgery. We do these intentional osteotomies to correct the alignment of these deformities. To allow the bones to heal especially in minimal incision surgery with the use of osteotomies we use adjunctive procedures such as laser therapy and soundwave acoustic therapy to allow for faster regeneration of the bones. We used regenerative medicine including stem cell like injections as well as exosomes which will speed up the healing process as well.
